The anime adaptation of Yuusei Matsui’s latest manga, “The Elusive Samurai,” is set to release on July 6, and fans of the author and the manga are eagerly awaiting its premiere.

Matsui, the creator of the widely acclaimed manga “Assassination Classroom,” made his return to Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2021 with his latest work, “The Elusive Samurai.”
This marked a significant comeback for the author, who took a five-year hiatus since wrapping up “Assassination Classroom,” a manga that gained international recognition and was adapted into an anime almost a decade ago (Jan 2015).
“The Elusive Samurai” follows the story of a young boy named Tokiyuki Houjou, who is the son of a powerful samurai. However, Tokiyuki is not your typical samurai; he is weak, clumsy, and lacks the skills and abilities that are expected of a samurai.
Despite this, Tokiyuki dreams of becoming a great samurai like his father and sets out on a journey to hone his skills and prove his worth.
