Chapter 153 Recap

Before we jump into chapter 154’s spoilers, let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent release of Blue Lock, chapter 153, titled, ‘Environment.’

The previous chapter kicks off right where chapter 152 left us with all of the Blue Lock players returning to their stadium. However, there is one surprise waiting for Isagi and his group when they enter the main room. Not only is, everyone already there waiting for them, but the Japanese U-20 team they beat is also there. After questioning them Oliver tells Isagi that Ego, who is now in charge of the U-20 team asked them to be here.

After some waiting Ego shows himself on a screen and begins to explain. Since he now holds the power over the Blue Lock program and the Japanese U-20 team he will be creating a team for the Under 20 World Cup that is only 100 days away.

Ego continues on and says that the way his unpolished gems are now, they have zero chances of winning. So to better prepare them during Blue Lock Phase 2, he will take them to the peak of international football, Europes big five leagues. After explaining the big five countries and what they excel at, Ego gives his players 3 hours to choose a new environment to practice and learn in. Ending the chapter as the players stare down and ponder their choices.

Chapter 154 Spoilers

Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 154. Warning, however, raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.

Chapter 154 seems to start off just a bit after the events of the previous chapter as we can see that some players have already chosen their environment. From the main cast, Igarashi chose Germany, Otoya chose Spain, Jyubei chose Italy, and Zantetsu chose France.

There is only 1 hour and a half left in the selection process and many of the main cast aside from those listed above are still having difficulty picking what country they want to choose. And seeing how each country can only accommodate nine people, choosing off on a first come first serve system, our players are in a slight hurry.

Chigiri asks Isagi, what league, he is thinking about joining, the two stare down at their phones and Isagi replies that he is completely lost. He is struggling to pick between Germany and England both teams he believes will fit him well. Chigiri then responds that he is going to pick England since they are more speed-focused making it an easy pick for him and a big chance to improve on his style.

Reo also jumps in saying that he too is picking England, since it’s his favorite team and they give off a strong sense of money, as he puts it. Nagi, who doesn’t really care asks what country is best at trapping, Nagi’s best trait, to which Chigiri replies it’s probably England, reminding Nagi of that video clip he showed him way back in the second selection. Making up his mind Nagi decides to go to England as well then, to which Reo responds “so we’ll be together Nagi,” Nagi simply responds by saying “yeah, that’s fine right.”

Also jumping in is Bachira who announces that he has chosen the best country for dribbling Spain. But to him, none of this selection matters since no matter where they go everyone here will still be aiming to be the number 1 striker. Before leaving Bachira turns to Isagi and tells him that even if they do go to different destinations, the next time they meet it’s only polite that they should evolve. Isagi replies of course and he thanks Bachira for his advice, now with a clearer head Isagi decides that the best place for him right now, the place he can be the hottest is Germany.

As the final selection ends we see the final choices of all the current players in Blue Lock, the choices are as followed,

Germany: Isagi, Raichi, Gagamaru, Igarashi, Teppei, Kurona, Seira, Hiori;

England: Mikage, Chigiri, Nagi, Niou, Keki, Wanma Saramadara, Hiragi, Nishioka;

Italy: Barou, Aiku, Aryu, Niko, Sendo, Fukaku, Tanaka, Shiguma, Ishikari;

France: Itoshi Rin, Tabito, Tokimitsu, Tsurugi, Nanase, Chou, Yuzu, Sadouji, Shidou;

Spain: Bachira, Otoya, Hayate, Darai, Kitsunezato, Wakatsuki, Sokura, Himizu, Haichi;

After all, selections have been confirmed doors begin to open each with one of the five-country names above them, those who have chosen Germany are instructed to go first and walk into the Germany room. In the next room, we can see Ego’s hologram as he introduces his players to Germany’s most powerful football team, “Bastard Munchen.” Ego tells them that the players here will participate in the German team’s training, however, instead of actually going to Germany, it will be the other way around.

Instead, 11 stars from the German team, “Bastard Munchen” who are around Isagi and the other Blue Lock players age will be joining them here in the Blue Lock program. Ego tells his players one last thing before his hologram disappears, telling the players that from here on he will not be the one to guide them. And the chapter ends right as we are introduced to the “Best Striker In The World” someone the series has been teasing since its earlier chapters, Noel Noa.
