Chapter 160 Recap
Before we jump into chapter 161’s spoilers, let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent release of Blue Lock, chapter 160, titled, ‘Ginga X Monster.’
As shown in the chapter itself, which you should definitely go read, Ginga X Monster is all about Bachira’s new dribbling style. After taking in new advice from FC Barcha’s ‘Master,’ Lavinho our monster former team Z player begins to create a whole new dribble style. Putting together the Brazillian Ging style of dribbling where you sway your upper body, tricks he’s picked up from other players and twisted for himself, plus his own completely original monster. Bachira has created his own ultimate dribble style Ginga X Monster!
We see this new style in full show as Bachira dribbles through most of the German’s team defensive lineup confusing and tricking even some of the professionals on the field with his rapid foot movement and solid upper body. After making it past most of the team, and gaining a compliment from the ‘master,’ Bachira comes face to face with his old pal Kunigami. Who will win, Kunigami’s wild hero or Bachira’s monster style, the answer is just below!
Chapter 161 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 161. Warning, however, raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.
As teased with the end of Ginga X Monster we are finally going to see two fan favourite former team Z players go against each other. That’s right chapter 161, titled, ‘Bee Shot’ starts us off with a Kunigami vs. Bachira play. Bachira yells out to Kunigami that he doesn’t know what kind of battle he went through to come back but he’s glad to see him. Kunigami, who is all business and now fun responds with, “if you’re looking for a dance partner…I’ll take the lead.”
As seen in the latest chapter this is what Bachira was waiting for and attempts to get past Kunigami using his previous technique. However, Kunigami is able to follow him! Bachira, who is quite surprised grins and pulls out a ton of his new dribbling tricks, this time effectively getting past Kunigami. As he passes him Bachira leaves the hero with this comment, “muscles alone aren’t enough, my dance partner.”
Next Bachira passes back to one of his fellow Spain players who immediately passes behind Bachira to another Blue Lock player, Otoya! Now with the ball, Otoya yells out his new maneuvers embarrassing title, which I refuse to reveal here (you’ll just have to wait and see). Using this technique Otoya is able to sneak past a player and send the ball right back to Bachira who goes forth and scores FC Barcha’s first goal!
Isagi (who is still sitting on the sidelines being our commentator) comments on how free and amusing FC Barcha’s team style is. Isagi continues to comment on how Bachira’s evolved and how everyone has changed in their environment just as Ego has explained.
After a boatload of more Isagi commentary, (there’s really a lot). Igaguri mentions that if Kunigami keeps playing selfishly he may get subbed out, he also claims that if Kunigami gets taken out he’s sure that the captain will put him in. To which I say, sure bud. Isagi then begins to think about what he can do to be recognized by Kaiser and gain his place on the team. The chapter closes out as Kaiser declares a death penalty on FC Barcha, meaning that we might see Kaiser show us why he’s the second-best player on the German team!
