A shocking incident took place in Kolkata, India, where a 12 year old boy died after jumping from a high building expecting to be saved by one of the ‘Platinum End’ anime angels.
According to the preliminary reports from the police, Biraj Pachisia, a 12 year old boy who belongs from North Kolkata, went to the top of the building when the other members of the family were busy with the Puja (a holy prayer of Hindus). He jumped from the roof and was crushed on the concrete floor just beside the pool.
According to the police, the boy was addicted to the Platinum End show, and was inspired by it take this extreme step. He was hoping to be saved by an angel, just like the main character was saved by the angel in the animated series.
Although, some fans might say that is only one of the occasions where anime had a negative influence on kids, however, this does raise a concern that young children could be severely affected by the anime series that their immature minds cannot understand.
