Chainsaw Man Voice Actors, Cast Pre-Selection Leaked

A Twitter user shared an image where allegedly the pre-selection of Chainsaw Man voice actors can be seen. According to the leaker, the pre-selection was made during the Fall 2020 season. However, the pre-selection does not mean that this will be the final cast. Also, the information is not coming from any kind of official source, so it is hard to predict how much of this is true.

Update (August 5, 2022): Chainsaw Man voice actors have been announced. Studio Mappa has decided to take a chance on upcoming new talent (relatively new voice actors), so there are no veteran voice actors as seen below from the leaked information.

Here is the list of voice actors:

• Pochita will be voiced by Ikue Otani (also voiced Chopper and Pikachu)
• Denji will be voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto (also voiced Bakugo)
• Makima will be voiced by Yoko Hikasa (also voiced Frieda Reiss)
• Power will be voiced by Sumire Uesaka (also voiced Nagatoro)
• Aki will be voiced by Takahiro Sakurai (also voiced Giyu and Reigen)
• Himeno will be voiced by Kana Hanazawa (also voiced Mitsuri and Tachibana)
• Hirokazu will be voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya (also voiced Reiner Braun)
• Kobeni will be voiced by Yumi Uchiyama (also voiced Rudeus Greyrat)

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s action-adventure manga series, Chainsaw Man was picked up for the anime adaptation by Mappa Studio last year. In June 2021, a trailer was released by the studio. New information including cast and release date for Chainsaw Man is expected to release in Jump Festa 2022. On Dec 18, during the Jump Festa, new info is expected to be released.

Synopsis

The story is set in a world where devils are born from human fears. While they are usually dangerous and malevolent, humans can form contracts with devils to use a portion of their power. Denji is a young, depressed man, who is attempting to pay back his deceased father’s debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a devil hunter. Denji also owns a doglike devil named Pochita, which resembles a chainsaw and assists Denji in his work. Denji is tasked by the Yakuza to kill a devil, but discovers a plot by the yakuza to let the devil kill him in return for its aid. Denji is slain and Pochita severely injured, but the two had previously made a deal that allows Pochita to merge with Denji, reviving him as a human-devil hybrid with Pochita’s chainsaw ability. Denji kills the devil that killed him and is then approached by a team of governmental devil hunters. As he has now partly become a devil, one of the teams’ members, Makima, persuades Denji to become a part of their organization to avoid being hunted by them.
