Cyberpunk 2077 anime spin-off series was originally announced back in 2020, even before the game was officially launched. So far, Netflix has kept quiet on the series, but finally fans will be able to see the first trailer during the upcoming Netflix Geeked Week 2022 on June 8th.
Netflix official Twitter account revealed a promo of its upcoming Geeked Week 2022. Apart from Stranger Things new season, the announcement trailer also shows some stills from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.
From the trailer, you can see some stills of Cyberpunk Edgerunner. In one still, you can see a motorbike riding through a futuristic city, while in another still, you can see two people looking over the earth from space.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners will have a total of 10 episodes. “The series will focus on a street kid, trying to survive in a body modification-obsessed, and full of technology city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an Edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk”.
Studio Trigger is developing the Edgerunner series for Netflix. Trigger studio is known for anime series, including Darling in the Franx, Kill la kill, and Little Witch Academia. Not much is known about the release date apart from the fact that it is scheduled to release sometime in 2022, but surely we will get more info during the Netflix Geeked Week. Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) will direct the series along with assistant director Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare), creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi (Kill la Kill), character designers Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) and Yuto Kaneko (Little Witch Academia), and the adapted screenplay by Yoshiki Usa (SSSS.GRIDMAN, Promare) and Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare). The original score will be composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series).
