So where did things leave off in the Demon Slayer story? In the Swordsmith Village arc, Tanjiro and his friends faced their toughest challenges yet. The Love and Mist Hashiras Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito joined them to battle the Upper Moon demons Gyokko and Hantengu.

Despite being pushed to their limits, Tanjiro awakened his Hinokami Kagura and defeated Gyokko, while Muichiro unleashed his Mist Breathing to finish off Hantengu. But the victories came at a cost, with the death of Muichiro’s twin brother Yuichiro and the Mist Hashira left badly wounded.

Now in the Hashira Training arc, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko will be learning directly under the current Hashira as they aim to reach the next level in their demon slaying skills. But they’ll have to survive the grueling training methods of the Hashira first!

Based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s insanely popular manga series, Demon Slayer has become a global phenomenon since the anime first premiered in 2019. With nearly 120 million copies of the manga in circulation, it’s one of the bestselling manga series of all time. Animation studio ufotable has done a spectacular job adapting Gotouge’s work, with the show receiving universal acclaim for its stunning visuals, memorable characters, and thrilling action.

If the new season can maintain the same level of quality, anime fans are in for an incredible treat over the coming weeks. Be sure to tune in to this super-sized season premiere of Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc when it drops this Sunday on Crunchyroll! And, stay tuned to Anime Senpai for more coverage of the series as the season progresses.
