Dragon Ball’s New Majin Buu (Majin Kuu) Strangely Resembles Both Golden Frieza and Pikkon

In the previous episodes of Dragon Ball Daima, Buu’s origin story got a rewrite, and the series has now introduced its next big villain, Majin Kuu. Created through the same method as Majin Buu, Majin Kuu’s character design bears a striking resemblance to a blend of Golden Frieza and Pikkon.

Episode 9 of Dragon Ball Daima primarily revolves around Goku and his friends trying to protect the Dragon Ball after reclaiming it from Tamagami, the guardian of the Dragon Ball of the Third World. Despite their efforts, the Dragon Ball is temporarily stolen from Goku’s crew, which they eventually take back.

Vegeta and his crew also experience setbacks, including their airship being stolen. Eventually, Vegeta’s team reunites with Goku and his friends. In the episode’s final moments, viewers witness the dramatic creation of Majin Kuu.

Dr. Anisu, sister of Degesu (the Supreme Kai of the Demon Realm), has been seen collecting remnants of Majin Buu during his battle with Majin Vegeta in the previous episode. Anisu is seen collaborating with the Great Witch Marba, who was revealed as the original creator of Majin Buu.

Interestingly, in the Dragon Ball Z it was revealed that Bibidi was the one responsible for creating Buu but Dragon Bal Daima heavily implies that Witch Marba likely allowed Bibidi to take credit for Majin Buu’s creation.

This could be due to the uncontrollable and destructive nature of Majin Buu, which would have made Marba an undesirable figure in the Demon Realm if she were linked to such devastation.

Anisu’s plan is more calculated this time. To create Majin Kuu, Saibaman seeds are used as the base, combined with various monster components and Majin Buu’s essence that Anisu had gathered.

The episode reveals that Saibaman seeds were likely a key ingredient in Majin Buu’s original creation as well. This is heavily implied when Marba mentions he only has two Saibaman seeds left, prompting Anisu to caution against wasting them simultaneously.

According to Anisu, the creation of Majin Buu was an unpredictable fluke, and they cannot afford to replicate that mistake.

The Birth of Majin Kuu

The newly created Majin Kuu is immediately tasked with a mission: defeat Tamagami No. 1. This test will determine his strength and potential for whatever sinister plans Dr. Anisu has in store.

Majin Kuu’s character design is a fascinating blend of Golen Frieza and Pikkon. The golden hue of Majin Kuu’s skin is the most apparent parallel to Golden Frieza’s golden transformation. he shiny and sleek design of his torso and armor-like structure reinforces this similarity.

His pronounced facial features, especially the lips and overall face structure, evoke a resemblance to Pikkon. Pikkon is a powerful warrior introduced in the Other World Tournament Saga. Known for his incredible speed, Pikkon served as a rival to Goku during their time in the Other World.

The Other World Tournament Saga, featuring Pikkon, is a filler arc in Dragon Ball Z that aired in Japan from July 1993 to January 1994, following Goku’s adventures in the Other World after the Cell Saga.

The emergence of Majin Kuu raises several possibilities. If he fails to defeat Tamagami No. 1, it’s likely Anisu and Marba will deem him a failure and resort to using the last Saibaman seed.

This opens the door for an even more powerful creation, potentially surpassing Majin Kuu. Another theory is the potential for fusion, possibly involving Kuu and another warrior, which could lead to an unprecedented level of power.
