Episode 12 starts with Frieren and her companions visiting the Village of the Sword, which protects the Hero’s sword within itself.

Later, the trio reaches the next village, where they stay for a while. As it is Stark’s birthday, Fern wants to ask him what he wants as a present.

The next episode will introduce a new character named Sein, whom Frieren persuades to join her team. As Stark is poisoned in the middle of a forest, they travel to the nearest village to cure him.
The head priest of that village recommends Sein to heal them, who was saved by Frieren from drowning a while back. Frieren starts to persuade him to join her team as he heals Stark.
But he doesn’t want to leave because his brother will be alone in the village. When even Frieren’s seduction doesn’t work on him, they leave matters into his brother’s hands.
After a sentimental exchange of dialogues, Sein decides to accompany Frieren, as the trio now has a priest within their team.
