Mieruko Chan was one of the most anticipated anime of the current season, and it’s delivered to the fans’ expectation for the most part. However, In Japan, Mieruko Chan anime is getting average ratings due to excessive ecchi scenes.

Mieruko Chan is produced by Studio Passione, which also produced Interspecies Reviewers (a notorious ecchi anime). According to some fans, the studio has added too much fan service in the anime which is not present in the manga.
On the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform, Mieruko Chan maintains an average rating of 3.2 out of 5. 22 Percent of reviewers gave 1 star, while 30 percent of reviewers gave 5 stars.
Here are some of the comments from a popular Japanese blog on Mieruko Chan average ratings:
It’s not that there is no such description in the original, but, I’m worried that the toilet scene has been added to the mystery, and if this is the case in one episode, it will be even tighter in the future.
It is different from the original. There is even a toilet scene that is not in the original, which makes me feel uncomfortable. Unpleasant. As for the essential horror, it is not as scary as the original and it is a terrible result.
Tomoki Izumi’s comedy-horror manga series, Mieruko Chan started serialization in November 2018, in Kodakawa’s Comicwalker website. The manga series is currently on going with more than 35 chapters released. A 12 episode anime series is produced by Studio Passione, the first episode was released on Oct 3rd.
