During the Jump Festa 2025 event, new updates on Jujutsu Kaisen anime have dropped including a key visual for the upcoming sequel ‘Culling Game’ arc.
First off, the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Compilation Film is officially hitting theaters in Japan on May 30, 2025. This is basically a recap movie for the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” arc from the anime’s second season, which originally aired back in July 2023.
If you somehow missed it, this arc covers Gojo and Geto’s backstory, arguably one of the most pivotal parts of the entire series.
The film’s key visual dropped too, and it’s centered around Gojo and Geto. No surprise there, considering the arc is all about them.
The background is a bright blue sky, which feels like a deliberate juxtaposition against the darker themes of their relationship. If you’re into visual symbolism, this one’s pretty on the nose.
Now, onto the Culling Game. They’ve also released a new teaser visual for this arc.
For anyone not caught up on the manga, the Culling Game is where things in Jujutsu Kaisen escalate dramatically, like, if you thought Shibuya was intense, just wait. No confirmed anime release date for this yet, but the teaser alone is enough to keep the hype alive.
Jujutsu Kaisen is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. The manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump on March 5, 2018, and concluded on September 30, 2024, after running for 271 chapters.
The anime, produced by MAPPA, first aired from October 2020 to March 2021, covering the series’ early arcs. It has since expanded its reach with Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and the second season.
