She did this because Lishua wasn’t ready to dress the same as her lady-in-waiting. Maomao later learns she can now visit home because of the pins she received during the party.
She managed to lure Li Haku (the boy who gave her a pin) to vouch for her, as she offered a night with the best courtesan in her town. And so, Maomao managed to return home for three days.

The next episode will carry on Maomao’s homecoming, as a poisoning case occurs as soon as she arrives home: a case between a courtesan and her customer.
She tries to deduce this to the best of her abilities but calls her father for further deductions. She later witnesses the little cleaner trying to kill the customer.
Maomao later learns that this customer rejected this little girl’s sister after demanding her. This caused her to commit su*cide, thus leading to this little girl developing a grudge.
Maomao later deduces that the courtesan was responsible for the poisoning, as she wanted to kill this customer due to his reputation.
