This event also included appearances by Ryota Suzuki, the voice actor for protagonist Rentt Faina, and Ikumi Hasegawa, who voices Sheila Ibarus. To commemorate the announcement, a new visual featuring Rentt looking back with his companion Edel perched on his shoulder was unveiled.

The visual was drawn by Jaian, the original character designer.

An illustration drawn by character designer Jian to celebrate the decision to produce a second season of the anime was also shared by the official X account.

For context, The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is a dark fantasy series that follows Rentt Faina, a failed adventurer who is killed in a dungeon and resurrects as a skeleton, the weakest type of monster.

The anime adaptation of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer was produced by Connect and aired its first season from January 8 to March 25, 2024, with a total of 12 episodes. It was streamed on Crunchyroll for international audiences and licensed by Muse Communication for South and Southeast Asia.

The light novel began serialization on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in September 2016 before being acquired by Overlap. Overlap has published 14 volumes as of December 2024, with the most recent volume set to release on December 25, 2024.

The manga adaptation, illustrated by Haiji Nakasone, started serialization on Overlap’s Comic Gardo in November 2017 and has 12 volumes currently available.

As of now, no release date has been announced for Season 2. Further updates from Overlap or the production team are expected.
