The fourth season of “Mairimashita! Iruma-kun” (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun) has officially been announced. This was revealed on November 17, 2024, during the DEVIL’S PARTY! special event held at the Bunkyo Civic Hall in Tokyo.
A teaser visual was unveiled, alongside a promotional video that confirms the new season will center around the Music Festival Arc.
For those unfamiliar, this arc focuses on protagonist Iruma Suzuki teaming up with his classmates to face the challenges of this high-stakes competition. Iruma Season 4 release is yet to be revealed.
One major highlight in the visual? The inclusion of Purson Soi, the “13th and final member” of the Misfit Class, who’s been teased for a while.
Fans of the manga know that Purson is an important character, and seeing him in the spotlight here has understandably stirred excitement.
Some Quick Context About The Series
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun is based on the manga by Osamu Nishi, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion (Akita Shoten). The story revolves around Iruma Suzuki, a human who finds himself adopted by the demon Sullivan, becoming his “grandson.”
From there, Iruma attends Babyls, a school for demons, where he navigates life among supernatural beings while keeping his humanity a secret.
The series blends comedy, slice-of-life elements, and surprisingly heartfelt character growth. It’s worth mentioning the manga has been running strong, with 39 volumes published and over 16 million copies in circulation as of now.
That’s a big deal in this day and age when many series fizzle out before hitting these milestones.
What to Expect from Season 4
If the adaptation sticks to the manga (as previous seasons have), Season 4 should maintain the anime’s usual balance of humor and emotional depth. The Music Festival Arc introduces new dynamics among the Misfit Class and shines a spotlight on their unique talents.
We’ll also get some much-needed exploration of Purson, whose quiet nature has made him a bit of a mystery until now.
The anime adaptation, helmed by Bandai Namco Pictures, has been consistently praised for its vibrant art style, and faithful adaptation of the manga.
Season 4 announcement is exciting but not unexpected. The franchise has been a steady performer, with growing popularity both in Japan and internationally. Still, it’s nice to see continued investment in the series, and I’m personally looking forward to seeing how they bring the Music Festival to life.
If you’re a fan of the manga, the adaptation, or even just casually interested in picking up a solid, lighthearted anime with a well-developed ensemble cast, this is one to keep on your radar.
