When you think of delinquents, gangs, school, and anime, the first series that comes to mind is Tokyo Revengers, and rightfully so, as it is the most popular delinquent series. The series has a total of 1.2 million members on MyAnimeList (MAL).

After the release of Tokyo Revengers season 3 in October 2023, there was a dry spell when it came to the delinquent series. The Winter anime season saw the release of Bucchigiri, but it failed to gain traction and fans, with a below-average rating of 6.66/10.

However, the Spring anime season is proving to be different with the release of Wind Breaker, a beautifully animated series from CloverWorks, known for their work on Bocchi the Rock, Spy x Family, and Horimiya.

Wind Breaker currently has a rating of 7.95/10 on MyAnimeList, surpassing Tokyo Revengers’ 7.93/10. The series recently released its second episode, which caused a spike in ratings.

It seems that many fans were waiting to see how good episode 2 would be, as sometimes anime series fall off after their premiere episode. However, Wind Breaker’s second episode also delivered in terms of storyline and animation quality.

Wind Breaker tells the story of Haruka Sakura, who was bullied and ignored by those around him because of his appearance, as he had black and white hair, pupils, and different colored eyes. The only way Sakura knew how to deal with this bullying was to fight, and that’s what he did.

Now, Sakura has joined Furin High School, which is known to have the best fighters. Sakura’s goal is to become the top fighter in this school.

If the plot has caught your attention and you would like to watch the series yourself, Wind Breaker is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The series will have a total of 13 episodes.
