Act-Age Artist Will Return To Shonen Jump Magazine With New Manga

Shiro Usazaki, the artist for “Act Age,” will be making a return to Weekly Shounen Jump with a new one-shot manga titled “Kimi to Aoi Yoru no” in the upcoming issue 16/2023, which will be released on March 20th. The original story was created by Kidasaori, with Nemu by Taoka Muneaki and the original game idea by Shinoda Kizuki.

Unfortunately, Shiro’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga, “Act Age” was cancelled and removed from all official platforms after the author, Matsuki Tatsuya, was arrested in August 2020 for allegedly committing indecent acts on two female middle school students. Tatsuya later admitted to the charges.

Shiro Usazaki, the artist for the “Act-age” manga, expressed sympathy for the victims of harassing incident. Usazaki believed that the cancellation was appropriate as they did not want the manga to trigger similar reactions from the victims. Usazaki urged fans not to harass or blame the victims and cautioned against using their love for manga to incite violence. Usazaki concluded by hoping that the victims receive proper care and live peaceful lives.

After the cancellation of “Act Age,” Usazaki worked on a one-shot manga called “Engan no Cyclops,” which was published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The one-shot received an average response from the readers, with a rating of 6.63/10 on MyAnimeList. Although there is hope that “Kimi to Aoi Yoru no” will be well-received by readers. Perhaps this one shot will lead to a full-blown series in the future, featuring Usazaki’s incredible art.

  1. The issue is you need an author who can make a good story. Good art can only get you that far if the scenario is bad.
