In May, Kodansha, a prominent manga publisher in Japan, launched an online manga reading platform, K Manga, specifically for fans in the United States. While it was initially introduced as a mobile application, the service was soon expanded to include a website version for enhanced accessibility.
K Manga is set to host an online launch party featuring various manga artists and illustrators. This celebratory event will be live-streamed on Kodansha USA’s YouTube channel on Thursday, June 22, starting at 9:00 PM Pacific Time. Attendees will have the opportunity to win a range of prizes, among which are illustrations autographed by various manga artists.
The event will include an exclusive pre-recorded interview with Hajime Isayama, the creator of the globally acclaimed series “Attack on Titan.” This interview will provide unique behind-the-scenes insights into how Isayama brought the epic Attack on Titan saga to completion.
Additionally, Hiro Mashima, the manga artist known for “FAIRY TAIL,” and Reiji Miyajima, the creative force behind “Rent-A-Girlfriend,” will participate as special guests in a live discussion. Additionally, Hiro Mashima will demonstrate his drawing process live, offering invaluable tips and techniques.
Furthermore, the creators of popular series like Blue Lock, Tokyo Revengers, To Your Eternity, Vinland Saga, Seven Deadly Sins, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Your Boy Kongming will share special messages with fans during this event.

In addition to watching the live stream, you’ll need to fill out a form providing some basic personal information. If you’re selected as a winner, you’ll be notified by email. The form will become available on Kodansha’s official website on June 22 at 10:45 PM Eastern Time and remain open until June 28.
A total of 82 prizes are up for grabs. This includes signed original illustrations for 16 winners, original art replicas for 16 winners, and original t-shirts for 50 lucky individuals. The estimated retail value of each prize is around $913, as per the event’s official website.
