Hajime Isayama, the creator of Attack on Titan, has announced that he is working on a new short manga chapter titled “Bad Boy,” which will focus on the childhood of a yet-to-be-identified character.
Isayama previously announced that he is developing a new 18-page manga chapter, scheduled for release on April 30, 2024. This new installment will be included in Attack on Titan Volume 35.
Up until now, fans have been speculating about what the new chapter could focus on. Some have guessed it might be a continuation of the original series, which ended in a way that could easily allow for a sequel.
Now, it has been revealed that the 18-page chapter will zero in on the early life of a specific character. While it’s still a mystery as to which character this will be, the title “Bad Boy” seems to suggest it will be about a male character.
Rumors are circulating that the new manga could focus on Levi Ackerman. In a past interview with Crunchyroll, Isayama hinted he has a story in mind for Levi, saying,
“I have thought about a story for Levi, but the difficulty of creating a manga makes it uncertain whether I can make it happen.”

However, the upcoming chapter might also spotlight a different character. After all, Levi’s background was somewhat covered in the spin-off manga “Attack on Titan: No Regrets,” which was also turned into an OVA.
The first part of the story draft is expected to be released by the end of this month, hopefully shedding more light on what “Bad Boy” will entail.
Alongside “Bad Boy,” a 200-page color book called “Shingeki Fly” will be released, featuring color illustrations by Hajime Isayama.
The Attack on Titan manga series concluded in April 2021 with a total of 34 collected volumes. The anime adaptation is set to end on November 4, with the final episode to be streamed on Crunchyroll.
Attack on Titan manga has sold more than 120 million copies, becoming one of the most successful manga of all time. The series has also won manga awards including the Harvey Award and the Kodansha Manga Award.
