We finally have a confirmed release window for the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie, and it’s not just for Japan. The film is getting a global theatrical release, and it’s shaping up to be a must-watch for anyone following Denji’s wild journey.

Season 1 dropped in 2022 and immediately took off. Fans have been hungry for more ever since, and now we know exactly when the next part of the story is hitting the big screen.
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Official Release Dates
To start things off, the movie will debut in Japan on September 19, 2025, with major distributor Toho backing it. That’s the local premiere, but the real surprise is how quickly it’ll follow overseas.
Sony Pictures has picked up the global rights (excluding Japan) and plans to release the movie in over 80 countries. That’s a huge move for the franchise and shows just how popular the series has become outside of Japan.
U.S. fans can expect to see the movie in theaters starting October 29, 2025. No word yet on exact dates for other countries, but if Sony is handling it, expect a wide rollout not long after.

If you’ve read the manga, you already know that this isn’t just a regular chapter in Denji’s story. The Reze Arc is often called one of the most emotional and game-changing parts of the series.
It kicks off right after Season 1 ends. Denji meets Reze (sometimes spelled “Rezei” or “Rei”), a sweet, friendly girl working in a small café. It seems like a calm break from all the chaos, but of course, Chainsaw Man doesn’t stay calm for long.
Reze offers Denji something he’s never had before: a sense of peace and a normal life. After everything with Makima and the constant fighting, this connection feels different and it’s why this arc hits so hard.

This arc really pushes Denji emotionally. In Season 1, his goals were simple: food, a roof, maybe a girlfriend. But now? He’s facing questions about trust, real relationships, and what it means to be human in a world full of monsters.
Reze seems perfect at first. But there’s a twist, and her true identity completely changes the direction of the story. What starts as a possible love story turns into something much darker.
Good news for fans of the first season: the original staff is returning for the movie, including director Tatsuya Yoshihara. This means the style, pacing, and overall tone that made Season 1 a hit should carry over to the film.
