During the Jump Festa 2024 on Saturday, an exciting update for the Dandadan television anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s popular action supernatural manga was made.
The Jump Super Stage event unveiled a new teaser video highlighting the series’ animation style and introducing the voice cast. The anime is set to premiere in Fall (Oct-Dec) 2024.

Staff & Cast
Shion Wakayama (Ino Takina in Lycoris Recoil) will voice Momo Ayase. Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) will voice Ken Takakura. Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy in One Piece) as Turbo Granny and Kazuya Nakai (Zoro in One Piece) as Serpo.
The anime is being helmed by Fuuga Yamashiro, who was an assistant director on Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! and Yojouhan Time Machine Blues.
The series composition and script are being done by Hiroshi Seko, who also worked on Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. The character design is being done by Naoyuki Onda, who previously worked on Inuyashiki and Rage of Bahamut.
The monster design is being done by Yoshimichi Kameda, who was the character designer for Mob Psycho 100 and the chief animation director for Inu-Ou. The music is being composed by Kensuke Ushio, who also composed the music for Tengoku Daimakyou and Devilman Crybaby.
The anime is being produced by Science SARU, the studio behind acclaimed works such as Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! and Devilman Crybaby.
Tatsu launched the manga in Shounen Jump+ in April 2021. Shueisha published the 12th volume on December 4. The manga has a cumulative 3.2 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2022. The manga is also available in English on Shueisha’s Manga Plus website and app.
VIZ Media describes the series as follows:
“Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, meanwhile, thinks the exact opposite. To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong—Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel!
