Demon Slayer once again unlocks one of their saddest episodes that wreck plenty of hearts in the midst of the Mother’s Day celebration.
The latest episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 features the continuation of the intense battle against the demon Hantengu’s clones. However, a special anime-only scene regarding Genya and Sanemi’s past broke the heart of many fans.
Demon Slayer fans were astounded yesterday by the recent episode that went trending online.
The series decided to choose tears for this episode by featuring scenes that are available only in the anime; hence, many viewers ended up surprised and heartbroken.
Demon Slayer Made Fans Emotional on Mother’s Day

While on the battlefield, Genya emotionally told his aspiration to become a Hashira with confidence to Tanjiro. With his willingness to cooperate with Tanjiro and Nezuko, Genya helped in chasing the fifth Hantengu form.
But because of failing to decapitate the crying demon, Genya chose to fire his gun, which wasn’t enough to kill it or save himself from the other demon aiming at his neck.
Genya realizes the situation he is stuck in and foresees his possible death. In what he thought would be his last moments, Genya calls out his older brother, Sanemi, in his mind.
This is when Genya told his side story from when they were young, which caused a lot of tears and runny noses from fans.

Hashira Sanemi & Genya’s Past Tragedy
It turns out that Genya and Sanemi used to have a close brotherly relationship. They both adored their mother so much and hated their good-for-nothing father for not missing a day to make their mother’s life a living hell.
One night, the two worried about their mother, who wasn’t still at home. Hence, as the older brother, Sanemi entrusted his other siblings with Genya and went to find their mother.
This normal evening became Genya and Sanemi’s most terrifying experience as Sanemi, and he witnessed their siblings die because of a demon.
To save his brothers and himself, Sanemi killed the demon who was in fact, their loving mother whom they were searching for.
This traumatizing and excruciating past of the brothers changes their relationship drastically by causing what they used to have to fall apart.

Because of being young and innocent, Genya accused Sanemi of being a murderer. When Genya remembered this heart wrecking past of them, he realized that back then he didn’t even try to understand how painful everything was for his older brother.
This episode came out just in time for Mother’s Day and many fans shared their sentiments for Genya and Sanemi across various media platforms.

The original content featuring the backstory of Sanemi and Genya in the newly released episode was beautifully written and heartfelt.
However, releasing the episode when their beloved mother died during Mother’s Day was even more agonizing for the viewers. Hence, many fans grieved for the mother of Genya and Sanemi yesterday, as well as, for the relationship these two men once shared.
