Demon Slayer’s Nezuko Causes Subway Shutdown In Mexico

The protagonist of Demon Slayer, Nezuko Kamado, has gained international fame due to the show’s massive popularity. Merchandise featuring Nezuko, such as figurines, can be found all over the world, including in places like Mexico. While this may be amusing for fans of the series, it can also cause issues for those who are unintentionally caught up in the craze, as was the case when a Nezuko figure caused problems for a large group of people.

On the morning of December 16, a train on Line 6 of the Mexico City Metro was taken out of service for a door mechanism inspection. During the inspection, maintenance staff discovered that a small figure of Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer was blocking the doors from closing.

The peculiar location of the keychain figurine raised suspicions that it may have been intentionally placed as a prank, causing inconvenience for commuters who were left without transportation for a time. While the situation may have been amusing for some, it likely did not go over well with those affected by the delay.

Mexico City Metro’s official Twitter account shared images of a small Nezuko figurine causing problems with the subway doors, which elicited a range of reactions from social media users. Some commented with words of encouragement, such as “Don’t scold her, she’s little,” while others found humour in the situation, writing things like “Nezuko doing her thing.” Others felt empathy for the Demon Slayer character, with one person writing “Poor Nezuko, first, she becomes a demon and now she is crushed by the subway doors.”
