Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, which started as a manga series in April 2020, has quickly become a household name in the anime and manga community. Thanks to the immense popularity of its anime that ended its first season not long ago, the sales of the Frieren manga doubled.
Looks like a silver-haired elf, Frieren has won the hearts of many anime viewers in the anime produced by Madhouse Studio. Moreover, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is currently ranked as the highest-rated anime on MyAnimeList. But as it turns out, Frieren is not even the most popular character in her own series.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Frieren series released the results of its 2nd popularity poll. The popularity poll was held between March 1 to March 24, with over 1.44 million votes being cast by the Japanese voters.
Here are the top 10 most popular Frieren: Beyond the Journey’s End characters according to the 2nd official popularity poll:

- Aura – 1,045,369 votes
- Fern – 864,863 votes

The main characters in the anime series not placing first is not something that has not been seen before. My Hero Academia’s main character, Deku, is constantly placed 2nd or 3rd in the official popularity polls.
On the other hand, Frieren did place 1st when only the unique votes were counted. In case you are not aware, anime/manga popularity polls usually give fans the liberty to vote unlimited times.
