Chapter 78 Recap
Before we jump into spoilers for chapter 79 let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent chapter of the series.
Chapter 79, titled, “Gas’ Wish,” kicks off a little bit after the events of the previous chapter, instead of Goku and them this chapter actually kicks off with the Heeter crew. We see them flying through the sky with their ship as they are informed that the Saiyans and Granoloh have stopped fighting.
Knowing that all the fighters are weakened the Heeter’s split up, Gas and Macki will go intercept the fighters well Elec summons the wishing dragon and grants Gas’ wish, hence the title of this chapter. Jumping back to our main cast we see Granolah react to the truth that was revealed in “Bardock, Father of Goku.”
Granolah is understandably angry that he has been working for his mother’s killers but Monaito assures him that it was for his safety. Before things get worse Goku jumps in and separates the Namekian and Cerealian but before the Monaito can continue his story the sky gets dark.
However, before the group can even realize what’s going on the darkness disappears and an enormous power signature arrives. That’s when Macki and Oily arrive announcing the arrival of the actual strongest warrior in the universe, Gas. Now in a much taller and toned form Gas arrives at the scene staring the group down.
Monaito quickly deduces that the Heeters have used the dragon balls to amplify his strength. Both Goku and Vegeta are shocked by this news but before they can press further Gas shoots out a powerful beam at them. Before he can even react not only is Granolah’s ship sliced in half, he is pinned down to one half by Gas’ weapon.
Goku attempts to attack Gas from his blindside but Gas summons some sort of weights that pin Goku down. After realizing that Goku is Bardock’s son Gas claims that he will kill the two Saiyans as well as Granolah. Gas then begins to beat Granolah down with multiple different weapons before sending him flying.
Using his chance Monaito rushes over to Goku’s side and frees him from whatever was pinning him, he then heals the warrior and asks him to try to save Granolah before he dies. Jumping back to the Granolah vs Gas fight we see Granolah continue to get destroyed by Gas as Gas begins a flashback.
The flashback shows exactly how Elec managed to hire the young Cerealian from an early age and give him a name as a bounty hunter. Of course, Monaito tries to stop this but Elec manages to still hire the warrior, something Monaito regrets to this day. The Namekian explains this to Goku as he finishes healing up all of his wounds, right as they wrap up Granolah gets launched in their direction, knocked out.
Knowing they can’t win this in their current form Goku instructs Vegeta to go get that senju bean he left behind in the city and heal up. Vegeta understands and speeds away, leaving Goku to fight Gas all by himself. However, it seems that even Goku is no match for Gas as he gets beat down too.
Jumping over to Vegeta we see that he has found the bean and is about to eat it when he has a better idea. Instead of eating the bean himself, he feeds it to a barely conscious Granolah. When asked why he did this Vegeta responds that Granolah must be the one to take revenge against the Heeters himself, for his mother. Thus ending the chapter as Granolah seems ready to fight again.
Chapter 79 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 79’s spoilers. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.
The chapter seems to kick off with a brief flashback of a conversation between Elec and a masked man on board the Heeters ship. The flashback is very brief as by the next page we are back to the present time where it seems that Oily and Macki are trying to take down Monaito while all the other fighters are occupied. However, before they can attack Granaloh jumps in and stops them.
Since accepting the Senzu bean in the last chapter Granolah is completely recovered and ready to rejoin the fight. Easily overpowering the two weaker Heeters, Granolah gets the attention of Gas, who has been busy beating on Goku this whole time.
Before they can start their fight Monaito gives Granolah the eye cover he has been wearing for most of this arc. Once he put that on it seems he received some sort of power boost. It also appears that something happens to Granolah’s other eye once this boost is complete, almost as if he has activated it.
