Read on to find everything you need to know for Jujutsu Kaisen’s upcoming chapter, titled, Tokyo No. 1 Colony Part 6, from spoilers to release dates and more.
Chapter 165 Recap
Before we jump into spoilers for chapter 165 let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent chapter of the series.
After getting his cursed technique confiscated from him in chapter 164, we see Itadori defending his life against Higuruma’s attacks for most of chapter 165. Higuruma realizes that since Itadori has no cursed technique ‘confiscation’ took away all of Itadori’s cursed energy instead.
Higuruma is both impressed and annoyed that Yuji is able to block and keep up with him even without the cursed energy. Whereas other sorcerers have no fight in them once their cursed technique has been taken. Higuruma attacks our hero at full strength and manages to pin him down under his enlarged gavel. It is then that Itadori realizes, this is court, meaning I can do this. As Itadori calls out for a retrial right before being crushed to death.
This time the charges against Itadaori are much worse, as Judgeman calls out, Yuji Itadori stands accused of mass murder in Shibuya on October 31, 2018. To which Itadori replies immediately and without hesitation, yes, I did that, I won’t lie and I won’t deny it. The chapter ends with a final panel where Judgeman calls out Itadori’s punishment which is, death penalty.
Chapter 166 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 166’s spoilers. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.
Chapter 166, titled, Tokyo No. 1 Colony Part 6 starts off with Itadori’s death penalty. Higurma’s gavel turns into an executioner’s sword and the sorcerer begins to think about what’s in the evidence. He knows that the evidence in the envelope says that Itadori is innocent of this offense and that he was not in control of his body. As Higuruma is about to hit Yuji with the sword it suddenly disappears. Using his chance Itadori sends Higuruma flying away with a punch
It’s obvious that Higuruma’s sword disappeared because he was about to punish someone he knew was innocent. Since Higuruma’s cursed technique is created by his hatred for the unjust system and the law, it makes sense that he can’t use the power unjustly.
After getting hit Higuruma explains to Yuji that he cannot bear the legal responsibility for his actions since he wasn’t in control of Sukuna. He even tried stopping Sukuna and taking control, therefore he is innocent. Itadori tells Higuruma that it doesn’t matter, it was his fault because he was weak and couldn’t stop Sukuna. The ex-lawyer then tells Itadori that there are many others much weaker than him in that regard.
Higuruma and Yuji both take a seat together and Higuruma asks the young sorcerer if he has ever killed anyone deliberately. Yuji answers that he has, to which Higuruma replies, isn’t it the worst feeling. Higuruma then goes on to tell Itadori a story from his past. After he finishes his story Higuruma agrees to help out the hero and give him the 100 points, because like him he is weak.
