Finally, long awaited release date for Jujutsu Kaisen movie has been announced after couple of months of movie confirmation. Jujutsu Kaisen movie titled “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” is set to come out in cinemas all across Japan starting from December 24. Film will be produced by well known studio Mappa, which also animated season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen film is based on Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which is prequel mini series to Jujutsu Kaisen. An interesting fact is that author Gege Akutami first wrote Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as a 4 chapter short series, which became very successful. Then the author decided to write Jujutsu Kaisen series after that. Here is the plot for the film:
Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem…his childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary curse, his plight gets noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where exorcists are taught to combat curses. Gojo convinces him to enroll, but can Yuta learn enough in time to confront the curse that haunts him?
Which characters will appear in the movie?
Since this film is a prequel to main series, it is highly unlikely that we will see our main protagonist Yuji Itadori or Nobara in this film. On the other hand, there is possibility that we will see Megumi Fushiguro due to his connection to Gojo and Zenin Clan. Gojo Satoru has been confirmed to appear in this film while there is a high possiblity that we will see Panda and Maki in this movie.
