Jujutsu Kaisen anime series, adapted from Gege Akutami’s manga of the same name, is confirmed for its third season.

The season 3 announcement followed the conclusion of season 2’s final episode, “Shibuya Incident: Closing the Gate.”

Season 3 will adapt the “Culling Game Arc,” continuing the story after the Shibuya Incident Arc covered in season 2 over 18 episodes.

A promotional video was released for Culling Game Arc, featuring the main characters of the arc. The release date for Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has not been announced as of yet.

It’s noteworthy to mention that the official announcement distinguishes the upcoming project adapting the Culling Game arc as the “Jujutsu Kaisen anime sequel,” not Season 3.

Culling Game Arc is the 9th arc in the manga series and starts from chapter 159. The arc will be a battle royale featuring many prominent sorcerers and non-sorcerers.

In case you have not watched the series yet, you can start streaming the series on Crunchyroll, which describes the series as follows:

Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna.

Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
