Chika Fujiwara is one of the fan favourite characters from Kaguya Sama: Love Is War series. Although, Chika knows a lot about love and relationships, it seems like she have not experienced any romantic relationship first hand.
Most of the other characters from the series are experiencing romantic relationships, but Chika is not so lucky. That is why, Konomi Kohara, who voiced Chika Fujiwara asked the author to write a romantic plot for Chika.
Kaguya Sama: Love Is War 3rd season is scheduled for April 8, and to promote the third season, the franchise held a special panel during the AnimeJapan 2022. Voice actors Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya), Makoto Furukawa (Miyuki Shirogane), Konomi Kohara (Chika Fujiwara), Ryouta Suzuki (Yuu Ishigami), and Miyu Tomita (Miko Iino) appeared to exchange jokes, while comedian Seitarou Mukai acted as presenter.
One of the segments in the event revolved around the parody of the dramatic speeches of repressed feelings that are usually represented in youth dramas. During this part, Chika Fujiwara’s voice actress, Konomi Kohara, made a joking statement directed at the original manga’s author, Aka Akasaka: “Chika has been a member of the group all this time, but even the people around her are falling in love, I feel that I has been left behind. Make me fall in love too.”
The other voice actors and the audience cheered, and applauded after that. Konomi was asked “What kind of partner she would like Chika to have? Konomi did not give a direct answer. However, she flatly rejected Mukai (who was acting as a presenter) as an option, but was otherwise open for suggestions.
