During Jump Festa 2025, held at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe, a teaser visual for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 was revealed. Second season being in July 2025.

Compilation Film and Hoshina’s Day Off Details
The theatrical release of the Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 recap film has been confirmed for March 28, 2025. Alongside it, a spin-off episode titled Hoshina’s Day Off will screen in Japanese theaters. The full trailer for this dual release was also unveiled at Jump Festa.
The trailer’s first half showcases action-packed highlights from Season 1, centering on Kafka Hibino’s transformation and battles. The latter half takes a tonal shift, introducing new footage of the rookie squad members enjoying some peaceful downtime, juxtaposed with Hoshina’s subtle, ominous presence.
The spin-off episode’s ending theme, “Invincible (from Kaiju No. 8),” by OneRepublic, adds a global touch to the project and has been specially written for this feature.
Kaiju No. 8’s manga has remained a critical and commercial success since its debut in 2020, with bi-weekly releases. As of December 2024, it has 14 volumes published. The next chapter, 120, is slated for release on January 2, 2025.
The anime adaptation premiered on April 13, 2024, and ran through June 29, 2024, delivering a tightly paced 12-episode first season. Season 2 is set to premiere in July 2025.

The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old longing to join The Defense Force and make good on his promise to a childhood friend, Mina Ashiro.
