Lycoris Recoil is an Anime original series, meaning it does not have any Manga or Light novel as its source. Criminal activities have seen a sharp decline over the years thanks to the Lycoris who puts their life on the line to protect others.
The anime focuses on a cafe called Lyco-Reco (Riko-Riko). The cafe offers Japanese and Western cuisine with four employees and an eccentric manager.

Episode 9 Recap:
As told by Takina, she must pick up the call within 3 rings to ensure her safety. After failing to do so, Takina rushes to her location only to find her in an operation room with a suspicious-looking woman.
That woman was a spy sent by Najima to destroy Chisato’s heart. She injects the heart with heavy voltage making it incapable of being recharged and giving Chisato less than 2 months to live.

Chisato seems to accept the truth, but Takina doesn’t take it too well and becomes gloomy. The headquarters asks Chisato to return to DA, but she refuses by saying she might consider if Takina is called back to duty, she might agree.
Even though Takina is reluctant about returning to DA, she decides to try it if it means a second chance for Chisato. But will she be able to survive?

In the upcoming episode, both sides will see an all-out battle against each other.
