The official Twitter account of Masamune Kun’s Revenge anime series announced on April 2nd, that the series will be getting a second season. They also revealed a teaser trailer to commemorate the announcement:

On April 1st, the official Twitter account made a Tweet about season 3 announcement, which was obviously an Apirl fools’ joke, because a series had to have a season 2, to get a 3rd season announcement.

Lot’s of fans still believe that the Masamune Kun’s Revenge season 2 announcement is also part of the prank, as the new trailer doesn’t have any new footage, but some memorable scenes from season 1. However, many official sources, including the anime website have confirmed the season 2 announcement.

Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:

“I’ve returned to this town for revenge!” Eight years ago, Makabe Masamune, a weak and chubby boy, was harshly rejected by the beautiful Adagaki Aki. Now, he’s lost a ton of weight, changed his name, and returned as a handsome teenage boy… all to make the “Brutal Princess” Aki fall in love with him so that he can reject her just as harshly as she did.
