Muse Asia YouTube Channel Hacked, Most Videos Removed

Muse Asia is one of the largest streaming platform, providing free anime to fans in Asia. On October 11, the Muse Asia YouTube channel was hacked by scammers, who changed the channel name to Etherium 2.0 and removed most of the videos.

At the moment of writing, there are only 124 videos available on Muse Asia YouTube. The channel name has been changed back to Muse Asia, but the deleted videos have not been recovered yet. Muse Asia has yet to release any information on the recent incident. Anime Senpai has reached out to Muse Asia regarding this matter.

On October 5, Muse Asia mistakenly premiered the Mob Psycho 100 season 3 episode 1 five hours earlier than the scheduled release time. After a few minutes, Muse Asia realized their mistake and made the video private. This hacking might be related to the Mob Psycho episode leak as well.

According to Wired, Scammers send a fake email, falsely claiming to come from a legitimate service (such as a virtual private network (VPN), photo editing app, or antivirus offering) to YouTube content creators with the offer to work together.

When the creator clicks the link to download the product, they end up on a malware site instead of the real thing. In some cases, hackers pretended to be a well-known company, like a VPN provider and Steam games or media outlets. Once the YouTuber downloads the malicious software, the hacker gets access to their YouTube channel.

The company has its headquarters in the Xinzhuang District of New Taipei City and distributes Asian and European films across Taiwan.
