This nightmare was his past when a monster chopped off his leg, and he now lives as a retired adventurer in the woods.
One day, when he is picking up some herbs, he witnesses a cradle in which a baby is lying. As she has no one to take care of her, Belgrieve takes the baby under his arm.
After a few years, Angeline, the baby Belgrieve picked up, is now off to become an adventurer.
She leaves the woods and her father after such a long time. Fast forward to almost a decade, we see Angeline has become a talented adventurer named “The Black-Haired Valkyrie.”
As it has been so long since she visited her hometown, she decides to take an extended vacation and enjoy some free time with her father.
But as she is about to leave her hotel, she receives an emergency quest, which she has to complete urgently.
As this quest is completed, night falls. The next day, she immediately leaves her hotel and has boarded a carriage to her home.
But a hoard of bandits raid her carriage, which gets Angeline over the edge. As soon as she gets rid of these ruffians, she finds Seren.
Seren is the daughter of Count Bordeaux, a head of a royal family. She is also on her way to meet her father, so Angeline gets sentimental.
Angeline decides to abandon her trip and her Seren to reach her home before she does.
Angeline keeps updating her father through letters, as he understands her situation. He keeps waiting for her beloved child to embrace her after such a long time!
