Chapter 342 Recap

It’s been an entire week since we last had a chapter of Horikoshi Kouhei MHA series, so let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent chapter before jumping into spoilers!

‘The Story of How We All Became Heroes’ starts us off in an old seemingly abandoned home with graffiti and insults all over the exterior wall. We soon learn that this is the childhood home of Himiko Toga, as the insults hinted at, with words such as ‘vampire’ and ‘freak.’

Inside her childhood bedroom, we get a very brief glance of Toga as a child with her odd blood-sucking dreams. Before we can see more, however, Dabi appears in the window, seemingly having followed his ally. Out of nowhere, Dabi asks her if she’s ready for what’s coming, that is the world ending. To which Toga responds that it’s a little late to be asking that. Dabi, happy with her answer drops out of the window and yells out that they should smile as he lights the house on fire.

As the two walk away from the arson Dabi mentions how Toga has a bit of Twice’s blood left. Since she had an affection towards the duplicator she should be able to use his quirk. Dabi comments that the two of them will help the sad man’s parade to continue marching. The chapter closes out as we see Spinner in AFO’s base assemble all of his mutated quirk following, finally ready to be their new leader.

Chapter 342 Spoilers

Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 342. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.

The upcoming chapter, titled, ‘The Calm Before the Storm’ focuses on class A-1 as they say their goodbyes and pack for the inevitable battle that’s approaching. Near the start of the chapter, Deku looks over at Uraraka and mentions in his head that he never got a chance to properly thank her for standing up for him, (back in chapter 324).

We then get a glimpse of multiple characters making their preparations. Endeavor is looking over some papers with a saddened look, we aren’t sure why. Aizawa is still in the hospital watching over Kurogiri and his class is currently listening in on what All Might has to say. Aoyama is mentioned in this chapter, but he’s still in his jail cell.

Later on, Deku sees Uraraka alone on the roof and jumps out to speak with her. After some small talk Deku thanks her for what she did that day but she replies that it was no worry, she didn’t do anything too big. Deku then asks why she’s alone outside to which a moment of silence follows. Apparently, Uraraka thinks she’s weird but Deku doesn’t agree and begins to compliment her causing her to blush.

The chapter comes to a close with All For One holding a communicator and stating, “let’s get started.” The narration near the bottom of the page shows us that the plans being set in motion start today. Meaning that in next week’s chapter we might see some things go down!
