On November 10, Netflix revealed the cast for One Piece live action series based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga.
The creator of the One Piece series, Eiichiro Oda is an executive producer of the series. Live action series is being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. Tomorrow Studios will be producing the series, they have also worked on hit Netflix series like “Snowpiercer”, and currently they are also working on Cowboy Bepop live action adaptation.
According to What’s on Netflix, One Piece live action season 1 will consist of 10 episodes. It will cover the story of Recruiting Zoro, Sanji, Nami and Usopp, and probably end with Luffy’s fight with Arlong. The title of the first episode will be Romance Dawn.

- Inaki Godoy will play Monkey D Luffy
- Mackenyu will play Roroanao Zoro
- Emily Rudd will play Nami
- Jacob Romero Gibson will play Usopp
- Taz Skylar will play Sanji
Considering that Netflix is still for actors to cast for the series, it could take 2 to 3 years for One Piece live action to come out. According to some sources, live action could be released on July 22, 2022, which will be the 25th anniversary of manga series debut.
On the anime side, things are going pretty well for One Piece, as the 1000th episode will be released on Nov 21st, 2021.
