The author himself took to X (formerly Twitter) to mark the occasion and make a heartfelt request to those who have the power to make decisions about the show’s future.

In a tweet following his anniversary message, Kamiya simply wrote, “Please Make season 2.”

No Game No Life has been a fan favorite since its debut in 2014, with many isekai enthusiasts consistently ranking it among the most desired anime sequels. The series has also maintained a strong following in Japan, as evidenced by the impressive sales figures of the light novels.

However, despite the show’s popularity and the clear demand for more content, the reasons behind the lack of a second season remain unknown, even to Kamiya himself.

The first season of No Game No Life, produced by Studio Madhouse, introduced viewers to the world of Disboard, where conflicts are resolved through high-stakes games.

The series follows Sora and Shiro, two genius gamer siblings who find themselves transported to this fantasy realm and set their sights on challenging the God of Games. The anime’s unique blend of gaming, strategy, and fantasy elements, helped it carve out a niche within the crowded isekai genre.

In 2017, fans were treated to a movie adaptation of the sixth light novel volume, titled No Game No Life Zero. This theatrical release expanded the series’ lore and introduced new characters, further cementing its place in the hearts of fans.

Currently, the No Game No Life anime is available for streaming on platforms such as Hidive, Hulu, and Amazon, although availability may vary depending on the viewer’s region.

Yuu Kamiya, the creator of the No Game No Life light novels, began writing the series in 2012, with Media Factory publishing the first volume. Since then, Kamiya has written a total of 12 volumes, with the most recent one released on February 25, 2023.

While the decision to green-light a sequel ultimately rests with the production committee and other stakeholders, the support from both fans and the series’ creator provides hope that the world of Disboard will once again come to life on the small screen.
