Popular Game ‘Tekken’ Is Getting A Netflix Anime Series

Netflix is continuing to grow its anime library, and the new addition to that will be Tekken: Bloodline anime series, which is scheduled to release later in 2022. There is no exact release date for the film, nor we know the studio name who is in charge of animation. However, the story will focus on Jin Kazama, a character revealed in Tekken 3 game.

Tekken is one of the most popular action fighting games, but previously it failed to translate the same popularity to other mediums like movies or TV. In 2010, a live action Tekken film was released, but it failed horribly. However, the trailer for the Tekken: Bloodline looks promising, as the game producer, Harada invited fans to check out the new trailer for the anime series.

From what we know so far from the trailer, following characters will be appearing in the Tekken anime series:

  • Jin Kazama
  • King
  • Ogre
  • Heihachi
  • Jun Kazama
  • Leroy
  • Paul
  • Kazuya

Let us know if we missed out on any character shown in the teaser trailer. The trailer shows Jin Kazama training with her mother, when the monstrous Ogre attacks their house. Jin gets defeated easily, which leads him to his grandfather, Heihachi for training. These events lead him to enter the fighting tournament where different characters will be revealed.

Netflix also revealed a key visual on their official Twitter account:

Netflix describes the anime series as follows:

“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.
