To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the light novels, Re: Zero- Starting life in another world, the author of the series, Tappei Nagatsuki held a broadcast on “Twitter Spaces”, where he answered a lot of fan questions. A lot of new information was revealed about the series during the broadcast, but one thing that trended the most was whether the series will have a happy ending or not?
As the broadcast was in Japanese language, still not much information is available to the worldwide fans. However, the Twitter user, Stride Vollachia (@LoremIpsumVerb) revealed one important information. He wrote “When asked about whether Subaru and Emilia would end up being married to each other, the author told the asker to rest assured, that Re: Zero would have a happy ending.“
He further tweeted “Disclaimer: Tappei’s answer does not explicitly 100% confirm anything in regards to ongoing Waifu Wars, so stay calm. However, he did reassure the Happy Ending in this context.”
Happy ending could also mean that either Rem or Emilia could win the waifu wars, or the author might go with the harem ending, and both Rem and Emilia winning at the end. According to the author, the most important arcs of Re: Zero are: Arc One, and the final Arc, Arc Eleven.
