A Twitter user @LoremIpsumVerb who often shares news about Re: Zero, revealed a comment made by Re: Zero Author. Stride Vollachia (Twitter User) often shares behind the scenes information and the comments made by author Tappei Nagatsuki at the private events.
On Aug 24, user revealed some interesting information about Re: Zero author comments in a private event. In 2018 at a private even, Tappei Nagatsuki estimated that it will take about 8 seasons of 25 episodes to fully adapt the story of Re: Zero (Starting Life In Another World).
Another point to note is that author’s prediction at a Talk show is not reflective of the producers plan for the anime. Author’s comment should be treated as nothing but fun trivia. Given the rising trends of adapting whole manga arcs into anime film, it is possible that some arc will be adapted into movie.
Currently Re: Zero have a total of 2 seasons. 4 out of 11 Re: Zero light novel arcs have been adapted in 2 season. Given the pace and the lengths of the arcs, it is possible that Re: Zero can get 8 seasons.
Season 3 Update
Given the popularity of franchise, we are almost certain that Season 3 will be made but the question is when Season 3 will be released? 2 seasons of Re: Zero animated by Studio White Fox were released 4 years apart. First season was released in 2016 and season 2 released in 2020. So that means season 3 will be released in 2024? Probably not but we will have to wait for official announcement to know when Season 3 will be releasing.
Synopsis
Subaru Natsuki is suddenly summoned to a fantasy-like world. Just after arriving, he is killed while trying to help a young half-elf he befriends, Emilia, who is a candidate to become the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica, only to revive some hours in the past. After dying some times, Subaru realizes that he has the power to turn back time after his death. After successfully helping Emilia, Subaru starts living in one of the Mansions of the Roswaal Mathers as a butler. Out of gratitude and affection for Emilia, Subaru makes use of his newfound ability to protect her and help on her ambition to be successfully appointed as the next queen, also providing assistance to other friends he makes along the way, while suffering due to the pain inflicted on him every time he dies, and carrying along the memories of everything that happened before his power activates, which is forgotten by everybody except for him.
