Skeleton Knight in Another World has been officially announced for a second season. The announcement was made on December 15, 2024, during the 10th Anniversary Memorial Fest! Overlap Bunko All-Star Gathering SP Night Dream Fest, held at Tokyo’s TFT Hall 1000.
In addition to the second season announcement, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the anime has been renewed. A teaser visual featuring the tagline “I have returned once again” was revealed alongside the news. No release date for Skeleton Knight in Another World season 2 has been announced yet.
The story centers on Arc, a gamer transported to another world in the skeletal form of his in-game character. To avoid being mistaken for a monster, Arc hides his appearance with armor while trying to help others, often getting involved in conflicts due to his strong sense of justice.
The first season of the anime adapted key moments from the light novels, introducing main characters like Ariane, a warrior elf fighting against slavery, and Ponta, a fox-like creature who becomes Arc’s companion. The second season is expected to continue expanding on these plotlines and further exploring the world introduced in the first season.
The series originated as a web novel by Ennki Hakari, which began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in October 2014. The light novel version, published by Overlap, started in June 2015 and currently consists of 10 volumes.
The manga adaptation by Akira Sawano began serialization in Comic Gardo in February 2017 and has since released 13 volumes.
The anime adaptation of Skeleton Knight in Another World first aired from April 7 to June 23, 2022, spanning 12 episodes. It was a collaboration between Studio Kai and HORNETS, and it adapted the early volumes of the light novels.
