The action-fantasy anime series was not as popular as other new anime of the season like Spy x Family, and got a mixed response from the audience. The Skeleton Knight In Another World anime follows the story of an Otaku who one day fell asleep while playing a game, when he woke up, he realized that he has been transferred to the game world with his in-game avatar, which is a skeleton. After making peace with the fact that he can’t go back to his previous world, he aspires to live a quiet life. However, his life takes a different course when he comes across an eleven warrior. The anime series started premiering on April 7 at Crunchyroll platform. The final episode (episode 12) released on June 23rd.
The anime series is produced by Studio Hornet, and Studio Kai. The season 2 of Skeleton Knight in Another World has not been confirmed by the production committee, or the animation studio or Crunchyroll. Many popular anime series usually gets a sequel announcement either after the release of season final or a few days after the finale. What are the chances of Skeleton Knight Season 2?
One of the major goals behind an anime adaptation is to increase the sales of manga and light novels. The anime series does not make that much a bigger profit, and if the sale of source material doesn’t increase because of the anime, the chances of a sequel decrease exponentially. However, sales are not the only factor to cancel or renew an anime series. According to Oricon’s top best selling light novel rankings, Skeleton Knight hasn’t made it to the top 20 list of Apirl 2022 sales ranking.

Is there enough source material for season 2? Skeleton Knight In Another World anime is based on the light novel series of the same name, written by Ennki Hakari. So far 10 volumes have been published and available to read. Fortunately, the first season adapted till the 3rd volume, so there is plenty of material for not only 1 but two more seasons. If you can’t wait for anime to know what happens next in the story, you can start reading the light novels from 4th volume onwards. 9 volumes have been officially English translated and available to read on Amazon. The light novels have also gotten a manga adaptation, and if you wish to read where the anime ended, you can start from chapter 21 of volume 5.
The chances of Skeleton Knight In Another World getting a 2nd season look bleak at the moment.
