Teenage Boy prevents fire using what he learned from Fire Force anime

An 18 year old boy was recently awarded a certificate of appreciation from the Japanese government for preventing fire.

On Sept 19, Sakuraga Kawazu was on the way to the convenience store, when he noticed the fire at the entrance of a house. The boy immediately called 119, and rang a doorbell and, knocked on the door to inform a woman in her 70s who lived alone. The woman was about to go to bed, after getting informed she put the fire out herself.

Kawazu said, “I had been watching an anime series about firefighters (Fire Force) in action, so I was able to face the situation calmly“.

The presentation ceremony took place in the Central Fire Station, Where the chief, Kanji Yoshihara said: “Thanks to the calm and serenity of the actions, we could only come out with flying colors. I would like to express my gratitude for the series of actions undertaken”
