Fans of Koume Fujichika’s manga “Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta” or “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” are in for a treat, as the latest updates including the release date for the TV anime adaptation have been revealed.
The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses anime series is scheduled to premiere on July 4, 2023, on popular networks like Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS Asahi, not to mention online streaming platforms such as U-NEXT and ABEMA. An international streaming partner is yet to be announced.
The adaptation, orchestrated by production company Shochiku, recently introduced the third key visual and promotional video, which have captivated audiences worldwide.
A delightful scene graces the third key visual, featuring the central characters Ai Mie and Kaede Komura in a school building adorned with falling cherry blossoms. Mie, depicted smiling, is in contrast with a confused yet caring Komura who holds her glasses.
The newly unveiled promotional video provides a sneak peek into the emotional journey ahead, showing changes in Mie’s feelings and glimpses of interactions with their classmates.
Accompanying the visuals is the beautiful ending theme song by Masayoshi, further accentuating the anticipation for this promising adaptation.
Voice Cast
Along with these visual revelations, the anime has expanded its voice-acting roster, with seven additional cast members announced.
Aya Uchida lends her voice to Asuka Kawato, Minori Suzuki as Maho Toyama, Ryōhei Kimura as Ren Higashi, Yūsuke Kobayashi as Tomo Yasaka, Shino Shimoji as Narumi Someya, Saki Miyashita as Yui Hibachi, and Kentaro Tone as Mr. Tokita.
The anime’s main cast was previously revealed which features Masahiro Itou and Shion Wakayama in the lead roles as Kaede Komura and Ai Mie respectively, further contributing to the series’ allure.

In terms of production, the staff includes distinguished names such as Susumu Kudou as the Chief Director, Katsumasa Yokomine as the Director, and Tamazo Yanagi in charge of the script.
Studio GoHands is overseeing the animation, ensuring high-quality visuals, with music production by flying DOG and sound production by Glovision.
