“The Simpsons” Are Doing A Death Note Parody Episode?!

Fox’s long-running show, The Simpsons, has announced two special Halloween episodes that will be released this year. However, one, in particular, has caught our eyes at Anime Senpai. Can you guess what it is?

Of course, as the title states, it’s a Death Note parody episode! Announced during the San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer, Matt Selman stated that the three-decade running show would also be parodying the popular Stephen King work, IT.

Now I’m sure that the IT parody will go well, but let’s focus on the Death Note announcement because that’s not all Selman told crowds at the SDCC. He also said that the animation for the Death Note episode would not be done by them but rather by a different studio. At the time of writing, we do not know which studio will be doing the animation.

As Selman said himself, this decision is to achieve an “incredibly authentic” Simpsons anime, which is something to get excited about! The executive producer then goes on to praise the world of anime, saying, “it’s (anime) is a rich and diverse genre within itself.” This could mean that there might be future anime works in the near future for the Simpsons series. Whatever is coming, it looks like we’ll just have to wait till October to see!

But tell us, what do you think of this announcement? Will you be watching this Simpsons and Death Note parody once it releases? As always, we here at Anime Senpai love hearing your thoughts and reactions to all of our news! Be sure to share it with us in the comments section below!
