When it comes to Ecchi-harem anime, the first anime that comes to mind is High School DXd, and what was the most likable part of that series? Surely, that will be the sexy character design of the girls (for most of the fans). For the past couple of years, there haven’t been a hardcore ecchi anime series like High School dxd. Of course, there were World’s End Harem, and Ichizuko Reviewers, but because of too much censorship, the former anime series never really got the attention of anime fans, and the later series was taken of the Funimation.
Upcoming isekai anime series “Harem in the labyrinth of another world” have fans got excited because the series will be releasing in Japan in three different versions:
- TV broadcast version (with censored video & audio)
- Harem version (with only video censoring)
- Super Harem version (with both no video and audio censoring)
The series tells the story of a high school boy, Michio Kaga, who was fed up with his life, so he decided to search a way to die on the internet. Michio comes across a strange website that allows him to create skills and abilities of a character. After he is finished with making a game character, he is asked that “You will now be transported into a new world with your character, coming back is not possible. Do you still accept?”. Without thinking, Michio accepted the terms, and the next moment, he found himself in the new world with the skill he had chosen.
Now the big question is “What are the things that will make this anime worth watching?”. As I mentioned earlier, the most important thing is the character design of the girls (which will be done by the same person who did Highschool dxd design). The main character is likable and hard working. He isn’t overpowered at the start (like most main characters of a isekai series), but he has to work hard to get stronger. The story is not fast paced or rushed. In fact, if you are looking for a harem, it might not happen in season 1 since the 2nd girl appears in a 30ish chapter of the manga. “Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World” is more like a slice of life series than an actual isekai series.
Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World is scheduled to release on July 6 in Japan. For worldwide anime fans, Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime series same day as Japan.
Studio Passion will be producing the anime series. Their previous works include Citrus, Mieruko Chan, and Ichizuko Reviewers. The character design will be done by Makoto Uno (also worked on Highschool Dxd, Love Hina). Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Katteni Kaizō, Nisekoi, The Island of Giant Insects) is directing the anime series.
