However, this demon needs a continuous supply of energy from his summoner and the only way she can get the energy is by kissing his master. Vermeil kisses Alto daily to claim energy.

Episode 11 Recap

In the latest episode, we saw what happened with Vermeil before she was sealed in a grimoire. The episode begins with Vermeil, who was still a child at that time enjoying her time with her family, consisting of a nun, Mielle, Lin and Cait.

Even though they were not blood-related they shared a deep bond. Mielle was the oldest among the children and often played with them whenever she was not busy doing household work.

Although they were very close nobody except the sister knew about the truth that Vermeil is a demon. In the era when she was a child people were more afraid of demons compared to now. Due to the fear of being killed sister hid her true identity in an attempt to protect Vermeil.

However, it wasn’t long before everyone in the village find out about her true identity and decided to exterminate her.

Not long ago a terrific pandemic occurred in the village and killed a lot of villagers. As the existence of Vermeil become known to everyone. The blame fell on her existence, and the villagers decided to kill her.

However, everyone from her family suggested Vermeil run away so that she could protect herself. Hesitantly she decided to go ahead with the plan but midway through, she changed her mind and went back to the church.

She couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw all four of them hanging from the tree. Enraged by this act she went berserk and annihilated most of the village.
