2021 was a memorable year for anime fans, with standout series like “86,” “Komi Can’t Communicate,” and “Shaman King” being released.
However, an unexpected and controversial addition to the lineup was “Redo of Healer,” a bloody and extremely violent anime that premiered in January 2021.
Due to its graphic depiction of gore and assault, many fans anticipated that the series would not be renewed for a second season, and that’s exactly what happened. However, a recent tweet from the author of “Redo of Healer” has ignited hope among fans for a potential second season.
The author, Rui Tsukiyo, tweeted: “I keep getting asked regularly if there will be a second season. It is impossible for the authors to reveal information before the official media, so follow the official accounts and keep an eye on them. That’s the quickest way to find out.”
It seems that some fans were persistently inquiring about Redo of Healer’s second season, but Tsukiyo’s careful response didn’t reveal any definitive information. Nevertheless, some fans interpret the tweet as a sign of hope.
It’s worth noting that despite the controversies surrounding each new episode, the series achieved its goal of boosting the popularity of the source material. The anime saw significant Blu-ray/DVD sales, and the sales of the light novel on which the series is based also increased.
The decision to create another season of this highly controversial series now rests with Studio TNK and the production committee, who must determine whether it would be profitable.
For those unfamiliar with “Redo of Healer,” the story unfolds in a magical land where the protagonist, a healer-type magic user named Keyaru, suffers daily mental and physical torture. He discovers that healing magic is more potent than he realized and uses his power to travel back in time four years to exact slow and painful revenge on those who wronged him.
