In the finale episode, after Armin gets engulfed by the Okapi Titan, we see The Rumbling wreaking havoc worldwide.

We see people falling off a cliff in one part of the world. In these people stands a woman holding her baby with utmost care despite the panicked crowd.

As she is about to fall, she passes the baby to the people on the cliff. The cycle of passing the baby forward continues as the baby keeps crying.

This baby was voiced by the one-year-old son of Yuki Kaji (voice actor of Eren Yeager).

The Importance of this Scene

Yuki Kaji gave context to including his son in the voice casting of the finale episode of Attack on Titan.

According to the voice actor, the story of Attack on Titans features the theme of inheritance from one generation to another.

Due to this, Yuki Kaji recommended the sound director of this series, Masafumi Mima, to add his 1-year-old to the voice casting.

Yuki Kaji sent the director several audios of his son’s crying, and the sound director gave him specific instructions regarding the audio every time until the perfect audio was selected and included in the episode.
