With the 2022 year coming to an end this weekend Yuki Tabata has decided to shock readers and fans with the largest twist this series has seen following the whole Lucius/Julius situation. Ending the year with a bang chapter 347 features some amazing fighting but more importantly a flashback that changes everything for a certain character!

Chapter 346 Recap
Before we jump into spoilers for chapter 347 let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent chapter of the series, titled, ‘The Five Devas.’ Be sure to read the chapter yourself, you can find it for free, and officially down below!
The chapter starts off as the battle between the Ryuzen Seven and Lucius’ Paladins is just starting to heat up. Sister Lilly begins to taunt Ichika who just powered up, telling her that she’s indeed powerful but shouldn’t she be focusing on the five-headed dragon? After all, if they don’t do something about it it’ll destroy everything. However, Ichika says otherwise declaring her trust in Ryu and his clairvoyance.
On that note, we jump into a flashback where Ryu warns his Ryuzen Seven about the incoming threat Giving them the full breakdown of their enemy and their most likely plan of attack the Ryuzen Seven prepare to move out when Ryu stops them telling them that before any fighting, they have to save the people.
After moving them all to a nearby town far away from the fighting, the Ryuzen Seven will intercept the enemy alongside the legendary five-headed dragon. This plan of action raises some fear amongst the group as the dragon is said to have destroyed the entire land before being sealed in the past.
Laughing about this, Ryu gives it to the group straight. The coming enemy is more powerful than anything they’ve faced before but Ryu truly believes in them and asks if they’re up to the task. Immediately this raises morale and the Ryuzen Seven rush into battle all heated up!
Jumping back to the actual fighting we see the Ryuzen Seven showcasing just how powerful they are as they each pull out their signature techniques. Each member manages to take out one of the five dragon heads in a spectacular fashion leaving Sister Lilly more impressed than before. Standing in front of her ready to continue the fight Ichika yells out that because Ryu believes in them they’ll never give up!
With that bold of a statement let’s see how the group fares against the Paladins themselves in this week’s chapter 347!
Chapter 347 Spoilers
Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 344. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out, so there are confirmed spoilers below; you have been warned.
Titled “The Truth In Deception” chapter 347 starts off where the previous chapter left off with the two forces clashing. The fight seems to be going in the favour of the Ryuzen Seven at first as Ichika is thinking that they might not even need Asta for this fight, but that quickly changes as the Paladins reveal more and more of their power. Even using combined magic on their opponents.
Then to make this fight even harder the Paladin with beast magic unleashes some sort of illusionary spell that makes the enemy see their true worst fears and memories. Ichika sees her own father, and this is where we learn the truth of the Yami massacre. In her memories Ichika sees her father complaining that there is no war to fight in and while talking to Sukehiro he offers a certain medicine that will draw out his demonic potential.
In her next memory, Ichika sees her father approaching her with the same strange medicine Sukehiro refused. Telling her that this is the medicine that makes those within the Yami clan go berserk, Ichika’s father seemingly forces feeds her the medicine causing her to go blank. Her next memory is of people running away during the Yami clan massacre.
With these memories now finally unlocked to her Ichika is in shock as she questions if this means she was the one who committed the Yami massacre. And almost as if confirmation, in her last memory Ichika’s father lays on the floor dying as he says, as expected of my child, Ichika, seemingly proud of her!
This illusionary spell that seemingly just revealed the truth to her after all these years leaves Ichika in shock. Meanwhile, the other swordsman is trying their best to continue fighting, but it doesn’t look to be going well. One of the last standing members, Daizaemon declares that they haven’t lost yet but he himself is barely standing. Though they’ve been defeated Sister Lilly tells them that everything is fine, after all, Lucius has a plan for all of them in his new world.
As she speaks Lilly approached the still-in-shock Ichika who is now questioning her own strength. This whole time she believed herself to be strong but in reality, she was this weak, how could she not remember any of this? Lilly is about to put her out of her misery as she prepares to strike the defenceless warrior but at the last possible moment, Asta appears in front of her, blocking the strike.
As the chapter ends Ichika looks up at Asta and envisions her brother Sukehiro protecting her from their father’s abuse as he had so many times. And on that note, the chapter comes to a close, ending on the highest possible cliffhanger! But hey, Asta’s back!
Release Date
Black Clover chapter 347 is expected to release on Saturday, January 7th, 2023. Due to the New Year’s holiday this weekend the chapter has been pushed into the first weekend of the new year! However, some leaks have still managed to filter out, meaning that scan sites will most likely have the new chapter out much earlier.
