Chaper 166 Recap

Before we jump into chapter 167’s spoilers, let’s do a quick recap of what went down in the most recent release of Blue Lock, chapter 166, titled, ‘Vessel!’ Since this will be a brief overview, I highly suggest you read the chapter yourself, wherever you get your manga from.

The chapter kicks off with Kunigami getting subbed in for the legendary Noel Noa. With Noa scoring a goal before his timer ran out, the game has yet to restart. Before it does we get to see Isagi question Kunigami on some things, mainly why Noa called him a copyman.

Kunigami, who wasn’t going to explain at first the essentially explains what he did in the Wildcard program. There were multiple players all fighting to be the last one standing in a program meant to procure a Japanese player on the same skill level as Noa himself. With Kunigami not willing to give Isagi anymore info, the game starts up!

Isagi is determined to score a goal and prove his worth, so when he sees Bachira running at him with the ball he of course tries to steal. This of course leads to Bachira easily passing Isagi and afterwards passing Kunigami as well. His streak ends when he tries to get the ball past Ness, who easily grabs the ball back, proceeding to then pass to Kaiser. However, before Kaiser can even get the ball, Isagi intercepts the pass and steals it for himself! Thinking he has a shot and desperate to prove himself Isagi shoots, but the ball is deflected and lands with one of Isagi’s German teammates.

As the chapter closes out we see just how desperate Isagi is to score this final goal and prove himself. The question is, will he score that goal? Let’s find out!

Chapter 167 Spoilers

Now that we are all caught up, let’s dive right into chapter 167. Warning, however, some raws for the upcoming chapter are already out so there are confirmed spoilers below, you have been warned.

Chapter 167, titled, ‘Cross Flow’ seems to start us off right where 166 left us, with Isagi’s German teammate holding the ball down. Opposing this player is Blue Lock’s shadow ‘ninja’ Eita Otoya who is trying his hardest to steal the ball back.

The German player gives the ball up and tries passing it to one of his fellow defensive players but his pass is intercepted and stolen, by his own teammate?! Kaiser’s second in command, Ness grabs the ball in midair and starts running it down the field, and this is where the fun starts.

Out of nowhere, Isagi comes in and steals the ball from Ness (his own teammate!!) and proceeds to run it down the field himself. Coming down at full speed Isagi is interrupted and is forced to face off one on one against Bahchira. But not even he can stop Isagi as the playmaker crosses past his old friend.

After getting through Isagi sees that Kaiser has a shot lined up and is in passing range. After pausing for a brief second it seems that Isagi passes to Kaiser but it turns out to be a fake as the ball is really going to Kunigami. Kunigami and Kaiser are both surprised by what happens but the former wastes no time shooting the ball right into the net.

With his ultimate left-legged kick, Kunigami scores the breakaway goal. Bastard Munchen has won the game against FC Barcha 3 – 2! As the chapter comes to a close we see Isagi saying, “let’s go hero, this team is ours!” And with that the chapter comes to a close, leaving us excited for Isagi and Kunigami’s next game in Bastard Munchen!
